The Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (ATO) is located in the south of Moldova. Gagauzia is an amazing and mysterious land that is attracting increasing attention, and it is always a pleasure to return. In addition to its rich history and traditions, the region's main strength lies in its people, who are friendly, hardworking, and known for their generous hospitality. It is believed that the ancestors of the Gagauz were Turkic nomads who arrived in the Balkans around the 10th century.
The first stop on the way to Gagauzia is the Manuc Bay Manor, located in the city of Hîncești in the central-western part of the Republic of Moldova. The manor includes several significant structures, such as the Palace of Manuc, House of Bailiff, Countess House, Hunting Castle, Watchtower, and others. You'll have one hour to explore these sites.
Next, you'll depart for Comrat city. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Comrat, the capital and largest city of Gagauzia.
Transfer to Avdarma village: Avdarma is a small village founded in 1811. Its name translates from the Turkic language as “hunting camp.” Enjoy a walking tour of the village. Lunch at a local café is available at an additional cost.
Transfer to Besalma village: Beralma was founded in 1791 and is known for its commitment to preserving the traditions and culture of the Gagauz people. You'll take an excursion to the Gagauz Museum in Besalma, the world's first museum of Gagauz Culture and Life, named after Dmitry Kara-Ciobanu. The museum houses more than 15,000 exhibits. Optional photo shoots in national costumes are available.
